Physiotherapies are therapies that your doctor may use in conjunction with your adjustments to relax muscles, decrease inflammation, decrease pain, and speed up healing.

Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS)

EMS is a non-painful therapy used to treat muscular injuries and tightness by eliciting the contraction of muscles using electrical impulses.  Essentially, EMS causes passive exercise of the muscle to deliver injured areas the vital oxygen and nutrients they need to heal.

Benefits of EMS:
-Relaxation of muscle spasms
-Prevention of disuse atrophy
-Increase local blood circulation
-Increased range of motion
-Relieves pain by causing the body to release endorphins or enkephalins (your body’s natural pain killers which are 10 times stronger than morphine!)

Therapeutic Ultrasound

Ultrasound is a method of stimulating the tissue beneath the skin’s surface using sound waves.  It is a very high frequency massage that can penetrate up to 5” below the surface of your skin.

Useful in treating:
-Muscle strains
-Muscle spasms
-Trigger points
- Plantar fasciitis

Benefits of Ultrasound:
-Decreased soft tissue inflammation/swelling
-Enhance scar tissue remodeling
-Increased soft tissue healing
-Decreased pain

Cupping Therapy

Cupping a form of therapy that uses suction and negative pressure to create decompression of your soft tissues and muscles. Cupping can loosen muscles, improve blood flow, and relax the nervous system. Cupping is used to relieve back and neck pain, ease tense muscles, improve healing, reduce scar tissue, and reduce inflammation. Cupping will leave bruise-like marks that can last for days to weeks and varies from person to person. Most marks fade and disappear after a few days.
